1. Introduction

We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or take part in ARU Green (the “Programme”), how we use it, and your rights in relation to your personal data.

2. Who We Are

We are Green Rewards Limited, trading as Team Jump. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 07490327.

Our registered office is The Courtyard, Shoreham Road, Upper Beeding, Steyning, West Sussex, BN44 3TN.

We are the data controller of your personal data, except data your employer or Programme sponsor gives us (for example, to confirm your eligibility), which it controls.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information when you:

  • visit our website;
  • register for and participate in the Programme;
  • contact us; or
  • choose to connect step tracking in our mobile app (see section 4A).

4. What Information We Collect

This may include:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • postal address;
  • activity you log on the Programme;
  • information about how you use our Programme; and
  • if you choose to connect step tracking in our app, your daily step count (see section 4A).

4A. Step Data from Your Phone

Our mobile app can count your steps towards the Programme automatically. This is optional. If you turn it on, the app asks your permission to read your step count from Apple Health (on iPhone) or Health Connect (on Android). We read only your step count, and never write data to Apple Health or Health Connect.

The app sends your daily step totals to us when you open it and, where your phone allows, in the background. We use them only to:

  • work out the points you earn for step-based activities; and
  • show your steps and points to you, and include your points total on Programme leaderboards.

We never use your step data for advertising or marketing, sell it, or use it to judge your health. Your employer or Programme sponsor only sees totals that do not identify you, and no one else receives it except the IT providers who host the Programme for us.

We use your step data with your explicit consent, which you give when you turn on step tracking and allow access on your phone. You can withdraw consent at any time by turning off step tracking in the app, or by removing our app’s access in your phone’s health settings. We then stop collecting new step data. Points you have already earned stay on your account, and you can still enter your steps yourself.

We keep your daily step totals for as long as your account remains active, and delete them as described in section 7.

Our use of this data follows Apple’s and Google’s health data rules, including Health Connect’s Limited Use requirements.

5. How We Use Your Information and Lawful Basis

We use your personal data to:

  • administer and operate the Programme;
  • display limited information (such as first name, surname initial and points total) on the Programme;
  • manage competitions and rewards;
  • request feedback;
  • keep the Programme fair and secure, and analyse and improve it, including with AI tools (see section 6A);
  • send Programme-related communications; and
  • notify you of changes to our services.

We process your data under the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure and improve the Programme, and to meet our commitments to your employer or Programme sponsor;
  • Contract: to provide the Programme to you under our Terms and Conditions;
  • Consent: where required for optional communications, and your explicit consent for step data (see section 4A); and
  • Legal obligation: where required by law.

6. Data Sharing and Processors

We may share limited personal data with:

  • voucher and reward fulfilment partners;
  • IT hosting, email, analytics and AI service providers who help us run the Programme; and
  • your employer or Programme sponsor, where required for Programme administration.

Everyone we share data with is contractually required to protect it and comply with data protection law.

Where data is transferred outside the UK, we use UK-approved safeguards, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

6A. Use of AI

We use AI tools from a carefully selected provider to help our team keep the Programme fair (for example, reviewing unusual points activity), investigate and fix problems, and analyse and improve the Programme, using aggregated or pseudonymised data where possible. We share only the data each task needs, and a member of our team checks the results.

We never make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that significantly affect you, and you can ask for any automated outcome to be reviewed by a person.

Our AI provider acts as our processor and may not use your data to train its AI models. It processes data in the USA under the safeguards in section 6.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. After a Programme ends, aggregated or summary engagement data, and where contractually required limited identifiable data, may be transferred to your employer or Programme sponsor for reporting and evaluation purposes. This never includes your individual step data.

Any remaining data will be securely deleted within six months unless we are legally required to retain it for longer.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • request erasure of your data;
  • restrict processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • request data portability;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent; and
  • ask for an automated outcome to be reviewed by a person.

Requests can be made by contacting info@teamjump.co.uk. We’ll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

9. Cookies

We use essential, session, and persistent cookies to operate and improve our website. When you first visit our website, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies.

10. Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Matomo to understand how our website is used. Some of this information may be processed outside the UK, under the safeguards described in section 6.
